Saliva with balanced pH level protects our teeth from decay and sensitivity. Popular lifestyle choices such as drinking alcohol and acidic carbonated drinks, caffeine consumption and intake of acidic sports drinks could have an impact on pH balance.
When the quality of our saliva is unable to provide protection, our teeth will be susceptible to acid attacks.
GC Tooth Mousse Plus contains calcium and phosphate, the major minerals teeth are made from, GC Tooth Mousse Plus (enhanced with fluoride) plays a role in maintaining the pH of our oral environment at healthy level.
It is a crème based product that can be applied directly to tooth surfaces to help to restore the lost minerals, providing protection and strengthen the tooth structure. With its ability to condition and revitalise teeth by fortifying them with minerals, using Tooth Mousse Plus are like using “vitamins” on teeth.
Contains calcium and phosphate
GC Tooth Mousse Plus is a delicious tasting crème that is beneficial for teeth. It contains calcium and phosphate, the major minerals teeth are made from. These minerals are available in a soluble form as they are carried in a special milk-derived protein known as recaldent (CPP-ACP).
GC Tooth Mousse can help to proctect the teeth aiding the replacement of calcium and phosphate minerals lost during regular acid attacks usually after eating and drinking.
Similar to GC Tooth Mousse, Tooth Mousse Plus contains recaldent(CPP-ACP) and fluoride (CPP-ACPF: casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate fluoride). The role of fluoride in strengthening and protecting teeth has been long understood and it is recognized that controlled fluoride uptake into teeth helps to promote a stronger and more acid resistant tooth structure.
The level of fluoride in Tooth Mousse Plus is 0.2%, or 900 parts per million (ppm) fluoride ions, a level just below that found in normal adult-strength toothpastes (1000ppm).
Fluoride together with calcium and phosphate in the correct ratio, is more effective at providing greater anti-caries protection.
Is GC Tooth Mousse Plus for everyone?
Tooth Mousse will be beneficial for patients of all ages. The calcium and phosphate from recaldent (CPP-ACP) will help to replace lost minerals from the tooth surface so regular application will aid the strengthening of teeth and protect them from potential dental decay and erosion.
Tooth Mousse Plus is recommended for patients age above 6 as it contains a similar level of fluoride found in adult-strength toothpastes.
For children under 6 years of age, fluoride-free Tooth Mousse will be a better alternative.
Tooth Mousse Plus is great for patients with:
an acidic oral environment
active decay in their mouth
white spot lesions
erosion or tooth wear
who are undertaking tooth whitening procedure
who are undertaking orthodontic treatment
a dry mouth
dehydration from sporting activities or outdoor work
morning sickness during pregnancy
decay as a result of medical conditions (e.g. diabetes)
a low saliva flow rate as a result of prescription medications
When should I use GC Tooth Mousse Plus?
A general recommendation is to apply GC Tooth Mousse Plus every evening after cleaning your teeth. This is because saliva flow is reduced at night and it will be ideal to use Tooth Mousse or Tooth Mousse Plus for increased protection.
How should I use GC Tooth Mousse Plus?
For maximum benefit, the minimum application time on the tooth surface is 3 minutes. After which, Tooth Mousse on the tooth surfaces can be allowed to gradually dissipate. As the main ingredient is from milk, Tooth Mousse is safe if swallowed. As Tooth Mousse Plus contains fluoride, we will recommend patients to spit out any excess crème.
Both Tooth Mousse and Tooth Mousse Plus should not be used by anyone with milk protein allergies or sensitivity to benzoate preservatives.
Please note this product is available in Mint, Vanilla and Strawberry flavours.
For use by or under the supervision of your dental professional in the recommended indications.
