The aveoTSD (TONGUE STABILIZING DEVICE ) anti-snoring aid was developed following several years of clinical research in the treatment of SNORING and OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNOEA (OSA).

The aveoTSD is made from a soft medical silicone for comfort and works by holding the tongue forward by gentle suction preventing it from falling back against the back of the throat , keeping the airway open during sleep .

Unlike oral dental devices , the aveoTSD does not attach to the teeth, and does not require specialist fitting by a dental professional. For maximum compliance this device is best suited for use with consultation by a medical doctor or dental professional and we do recommend this particularly if you are suspicious of the presence of sleep apnoea as often the diagnosis and management of this problem can be an involved process and may also involve CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) management, lifestyle changes, surgery, and other treatment modalities.

The aveoTSD is designed by a NZ orthodontist and we have had many patients who have tried this first to see if it can help and found this to be effective. For those who have not have any success with their snoring cessation or are having continuing sleep apnoea type problems or tiredness, we usually recommend they seek dental advice or referral to a sleep physician. Compared to other dental devices we have used, which can often be bulky and over 10 times the fee, the aveoTSD is a non-adjustable universal device that we have found is the most cost effective and simple to use. This is also useful if you normally use a CPAP device but need something to use when travelling and cannot take the unit with you.

NEW updated design has a wall thickness of 0.4mm (previously 1.1 mm) and the isthmus or waist of the device has been extended to a 4mm band (previously it was only 1mm wide) which has improved the seal. So the new design addresses the 2 main compliance issues:

A. Sensation on the tongue has been reduced with the thinner skirt

B. The isthmus extension means it is less likely to fall off during sleep.
